Just heard on the radio that the Eastern M25 is at a standstill and has been for a large part on the afternoon. I am supposed to be heading to Eastern Kent this evening, whats the likelihood that this will get cleared up this afternoon?

Commiserations to anyone stuck in this mess, btw

Honesly, I doubt it will be cleared any time soon - round our part of the M25 (South West) - if its shagged at 4pm - it'll be shagged till night-time.

This yes - it didn't earn UK's largest car park status for no reason! hehe

I just did Kent to Guildford, there was at least 1mm of snow on the hard shoulder so I'd say book an overnight stay in lane 2 just to be on the safe side.

I missed my cousin's funeral today. Driving from Surrey round to Essex but decided to turn back at Dartford, it was becoming grim.

My brother's been stuck near the dartford tunnel for 3 hours, and is going nowhere fast.

It's totally ridiculous around here - A2 bluewater (both ways) is stationary and has been for a while.

Don't go - seriously, just don't go. Girlfriend was going to a concert at the O2 tonight (we live in North Kent) and she can't get there - either by train or car.

I go A13 then M25 away from dartford to go home, so away from the jam. I spent 1hr on the slip road to simply turn left on that roundabout. I say avoid, doing the full jam will take forever. M25 was backed up long after I got off at J28.

Echo all of the above

Stay at home. One of my customers left early from their office Swanley due to the 'blizzard' outside. They all wound up turning back to the office as it was gridlock to get home.

Exactly..... How fu**ing hard is it to drive in a lane, and not crash to the car infront of you?

awful further into se London too. shirley to coney hall roundabout on the a232 took nearly 4 hours - about 4 miles? a21 solid.

slush has frozen and is being polished by Mercedes spinning their low profile summer tyres.

As above... My commute A13 (supprisingly ok by all accounts), and M25 south over the bridge.

Friend left early at 11.30... still not home. He lives in Bromley!

I'm going to go to the pub, have a nice meal, and "hopefully" amble round the M25, or squeeze through the blackwall tunnel just before it closes.

By the way its the same every year. Its not people crashing... The slip roads on and off the M25 (A2/A20) are never gritted. They become an ice rink and have gradients, they get closed... and turns the M25 into a car park.

Same every time we have a little snow. Nothing ever gets done about it.

Apparently gridlock around Gravesend and Bluewater. Glad I only had to go to Rochester which was relatively easy and I didn't even see any stupid driving
