A long shot, but thought I'd post anyway.

Was woken just after 3am by the sound of my car being started, open the curtain to watch a couple of guys drive off in it.

If anyone sees it being driven or parked up over the next few days/weeks, please let me and/or the police know.

Details:
Was displaying the registration 8 DGL.
Dark met blue/black.
Distinctive grey 22in wheels & polished side bars.

Looks like this (only with less children and more snow...):

Note registration when taken was 8 DGL, not D8EAM as in this picture.

Thanks for any help.
Dan

They got keys from house.

Tracking device is fitted and working. Waiting for news on that.

s.

Fingers crossed you'll get it back. Please do keep us posted, as after recently having my car stolen I'm considering a tracker and would be interested to see how effective they are. smile

With those tyres it'll be abandoned in a snowbank a few hundred yards away!

I'd suspect it'll be going abroad if they can. Stick it in a container and ship it to somewhere where they like Merc 4x4s tweeked by AMG.

That's what I was half hoping to find when I was driving around on the look-out in the early hours! Sadly, the near new Yokohamas that are fitted had no problems dealing with yesterday's weather when my wife was driving around in it!

VERY pleased to say that the RAC Trackstar did its job and told the police where to find it. They are currently taking it away to check for prints.

The Police have been VERY helpful and put a lot of effort in from the moment I called them at 3am - not the response I've always had when I've needed police help, but happy to say it was this time.

VERY happy that I'll be getting it back again.

Just the small matter of new door lock for house and new lock set for the car when I get it back...! Would rather that than go through the grief of whole stolen car claim.

Might go shopping for a spot of CCTV this afternoon...

Glad to hear that you got it back. Hopefully they will catch the tools that did this and give them a right bking and lock them up.

Excellent news. I can relate to this as I'm just a couple of weeks ahead of you after having mine nicked and found within 10 hours, without a tracker.

You might want to consider:

  • A new non-bumpable door-lock.
  • Rather than new locks on your car, see if you can get the existing locks re-barrelled and get new keys. Should be around half the price.
  • I bought an IP camera for security, but I'm finding it's a pain the rear-end to setup. I might go and have a look at the Costco offerings.

Need to see what options are. As thieves have a remote I'm going to need electronic changes as well as physical frown
Would take a trip down to Costco Lakeside, but when I was driving down the M25 at 4am this morning, the other side (coming from the bridge) was all totally closed - fives lanes of static cars and lorries eek

I'm having a bad enough day already, without wanting to risk a night on the M25!
That said, at least the car would be safe... laugh
