nissan terrano II 1994 windscreen demister not working
Discussion
HI, I have a 1994 nissan terrano II. The blowers are pushing out air but it only seems to come out at the feet front and sides and not through the vents on the top of the dash to clear the windscreen. the slider doesn't alter the position of the airflow at all. I have had the front off and can see the mechanism that operates the air direction , speed, hot cold etc. but I don't know what I should be looking for. Has anyone any ideas please? It's murder driving at night as i am having to wipe the screen every minute.
If it's a climate control type system then it's most likely a vacuum controlled type jobbie, in which case you've probably got a vacuum leak somewhere, and it will require tedious and lengthy diagnostics using tools you wont have.
If it's a manual system then it's probably just a cable that's let go, assuming you can't see any movement in the mechanism when you're moving the slider.
If you can see movement, presumably the air isn't flowing into it properly and there must be a blockage of some description
