help! mk2 1997 mondeo dash has died.

Can't see it's a common complaint. Nearest I can find relates to the Focus.

May be worth getting a new cluster from the dismantlers and try that.
Assuming it has an ECU, I'd check the connector to that though these are only guesses I'm afraid.

A similar thing happened to a friends 2000 Mondeo and he got quote silly money for a replacement and apparently they need to be matched / programmed for the car.
He fixed his by taking out the display/ module and replugging all of the plugs and this seemd to fix it.
No more occurances in 12 months worth a try

The gauge pods on that age mondeo (98 models are of a different design from what I’ve seen) are known for throwing the odd electrical tantrum now and again. The speedo died on mine and I picked up a whole new pod for £20 from a scrappy. The swap over wasn't anything too complex if I remember correctly.
However, as already mentioned, check the power feed to the pod as it's strange more than one gauge should die.
