People with two of the same car ?
Discussion
Some neighbours of ours have two RR Sports, others have two old shape Vectra's and my dads neighbours have two identical silver Toyota Yaris's, my mum and dad now both have MG ZT's !
Anyone on here do that, not saying there is anything wrong with it, just seems a bit strange to have two cars the same, same virtues, same faults, same capabilities, my mum and dads just kind of happened because the second one came up at a good price and the old one needed replacing but it seems really strange to buy two identical Yaris's brand new, and a bit depressing !

I think its abit odd buying two of the same car from new. However i kind of see why people own more than one of the same classic car, i don't know why though.
Edit to add: there is a house down the road from me with two 52 plate agilas...........thats odd.

I owned two Lancia integrales at one point. Two Lancia Betas at one point two. Rang the changes and owned a Westfield and a Caterham at the same time. I own 2.5 Dutton Phaetons at the moment too.
Most of the double owning came about from buying one before selling the other - the integrales overlapped by over a year - and ended up delivering the old one to same place I'd bought the replacement from . .
I guess if you like a car, you don't especially want to go somewhere else and be disappointed.

Agree with the OP, I find it a bit strange too. I've never bought the exact same car in my life twice, or the same colour in a car within three purchases.
It does suggest a lack of imagination, or a total disinterest in cars, which does describe a large proportion of the driving population.

It is Ok, why not, especially if that model suits them.
Fine if you're driving the ultimate car, then why not have two. Most buy two mainstream and not overly exciting cars.Just my opinion, but even if I could buy two Veyrons, I wouldn't as there'd be something else to have a go with.
My brother & Dad & I are always chatting about cars and cross-pollenate with ideas! We often end up with the same makes of cars, although not often the same cars themselves!
At one stage when we were both round the drive contained: 1x Rover 600 turbo, 1x Rover 214 wedge, 1x Rover 216 bubble, and 1x Rover 25 1.6.
Then for a while it was: 1x SAAB 9000 2.3T Anniverary, 1x SAAB gm900 2.3, 1x SAAB c900 T16S, 1x SAAB c900 LPT Convertible. Then the gm900 was replaced with a 9-5 2.3 LPT and the c900 'vert with a new shape 9-3 convertible.
Now my brother has bought an e36 328 Sport Coupe and my dad has replaced the Saab vert with an e36 325 convertible. I nearly bought an M3 cab a few weeks ago too!
Oh, and my dad had a Mk.1 MX-5 - some time after he sold it I bought my Mk.1 Roadster, and then he went out and bought a Mk.2
