Ok the subject is a bit misleading but apart from rare collectables what cars do people think won't loose much value from their current value?

My tupence here would be the 996 turbo (circa 25k) and the 993 turbo (38k+)

At the lower end of the scale ... Old Volkwagons?

Bought mine for £600. It must be worth at least that now...

If you're willing to bet that lotus have lost their way, a decent Elise may be cheap(Ish) motoring.

It probably won't depreciate.

It probably will break a bit. It's part of the charm.

I'm trying to find a Vx220 for similar money to what i sold my last 1 for a year ago.
They seem to creeping up rather than dropping.
Not recession proof yet but not a bad buy.

a good rust free defnder of 2005ish seems to be pretty strong at holding value...

No real budget was just interested in what cars in general. Would have presumed many cars when they get to a lower value like sub 5k will hold their value better but I was thinking of the 15-20k + cars

I've just bought a tidy E36 328i Sport for £1800... surely it can't depreciate much more than it already has.

biggrin Great news, looking at the prices of these at the moment, despite putting 17,000 miles on mine this year looks like I could get back what I paid for mine.

sports cars bought in winter and sold in spring/summer also a good bet.

Made a tidy profit on an SLK350, and lost nothing on an Elise and an Exige over the past few years.

As much as I love these I can't see the SC's remaining where they are or going up in value.

A good 3.2 Carrera is a good bet though.

Rover 213S, 1381cc economy, cheap insurance, paid £350 for the car and have been offered £1,500 if I can wait until March. Recession proof enough without being a silly car? wink
