Hey all,

Have an 05 Focus and in this weather whenever I open the driver door it jars open - have wd40'd and sprayed shed loads of de-icer on the lock but still no luck, even tried locking the door with me in it and still nothing else.

The strange thing is that if I move the car, after 4 full wheel turns, the door if pressed closed locks!!!! Any ideas? or is it just cold weather blues

ta

( apologies for the non-scientific explanation)

I'm sorry but I don't understand that...?

Do you mean you can't open the door, you can't close the door or something else??

If i open it - it doesn't re-close. unless as stated I start to drive, or wheel the car / let it roll back off drive, it then clicks shut if I hold the door in the closed position.

Driving me bonkers !!!!!

sorry, im frustrated and typing on my blackberry in the cold.

The lock part stays in the open position - the handle moves but the lock part just 'sticks'

i don't know how to explain it.

Erm.... so I go to the car press the unlock on my fob and pull the handle to open the driver door. I then push the door closed and it doesnt 'click' just re-opens or doesn't fasten shut. I can pull on the handle and the lock / latch part doesn't move just stays in the open position. I can sit in the car and 'pull it in' and press the door button to lock it and it still won't fasten shut. However if i move the car, with the auto lock feature and hold the door closed( a bit like an anti hijack thing ) the car doors all look after a few yards of setting off and the door stays locked.

It is only the driver door that does this and only this winter it has done it.

I would draw a diagrma if it helps smile
