My cars just broke down, its terminal and its not worth getting fixed, Injectors are playing up now something else has gone which is going to cost about £800 making it un-economical to fix.

I just need something reliable im borrowing the money to by the car, i need it for work at the moment im staying at my mums to ensure i can get to work, owe out alot and cant afford to shell out for any fixes.

I quite like the volvo estate (they have everything for that price) but the missus wont entertain the idea of a volvo estate at my age haha.

Nothing to exciting i know this is PH, id be really grateful for any replies (seriously)

Try any VAG Group 1.9 diesel. With due care they'll all run to well over 250K miles without any difficulty. Specifically VW Golf, Passat, Polo, Jetta; Skoda Fabia, Octavia; Seat Ibiza, Leon.....and you'll get mega mpg 50+ mpg is a breeze in these

A mate of mine has a Honda Prelude for sale, wants about 800 quid for it. If I was in the market for a cheap run around, I would consider it.

+1, for 2k could easily get a later Avensis, picked mine up a couple months ago for £2k, 50k miles on the clock - 52 plate.
does 50+mpg daily down the motorway with my heavy'ish foot.
have covered 6k miles now all without a hitch, fired straight up this morn in -7deg .. I was pretty impressed anyway biggrin
- downside is mates all think i moonlight as a cabbie!

I have Pug 306 Dturbo. Cost me about £800, cheap to insure, does 45-50+ mpg, parts are as cheap as cheese and it goes fairly well for a shed. Why spend anywhere near £2k if you cannot afford to!

I like this may have to have a look at it, seen some ghia x mondeos also, and some high mileage vags but unsure on high mileage full stop, its tempting.
