Just been reading on the net that new car registrations are down more than 10%. This is the fifth consecutive month of decline for the new car market following the closure of the Scrappage Incentive Scheme in May.

So lets look at the other facts:

Car Insurance average increase is now over 50% according to The AA.

The nightmare scenario is now for males aged 17 - 25 who are virtually priced out of the market. The other one is that 25 - 28 year old women are now the most likely to crash.

The days of insurance dropping at 25 are over, in fact there is a good chance that is you have your 25th birthday you'll see a fairly hefty rise in premium.

Petrol goes up 1st January, 2011

VAT up to 20%.

Its hard to feel sorry for car dealers but I reckon they are in for a very, very poor year in terms of sales for 2011.
