You know the one with Jude Law in Paris.

I thought the car was a Merc SL, but having seen this pic and the lack of star on the grille I'm wondering if it's a replica of some sort? Or is it just covered as they aren't advertising MB?

I'm sure it's a 190 SL just without the badge.

Definitely an SL

Maybe it's a trademark thing.

That's quite a tastefully done "debadge" though, isn't it? Looks like it could have been a special edition model, or something from some obscure manufacturer; normally they look obviously missing something.

Speaking of cars in aftershave ads, does anybody else end up watching the 1 Million advert every time it's on, for the literally split second shot of an E-type slewing sideways launching on gravel? Lovely cloud9

Doesn't look right without it, though - changes the proportions of the front in some subtle way, perhaps?

Jude Law is a total knobend...and the advert would have been much better if he had been in a BMW 507 or a Citroen DS Convertible.....the coolest car for Paris!

Obviously the ad agency and creative director no nothing about cars and I am sure M-B will not be over impressed with their car being disguised.

There's one of those in Stratstones MB in Leeds - cream with red leather.
I want it so much. It makes my heart ache when I see it frown

Are you saying the 190 SL isn't a cool car? frown

Most cars in ads (that aren't for the car itself) have the badge obscured. Usually it seems to be blacked out with electrical tape. This appears to have been done with a bit more style.

Guy Ritchie directed. Remeber his BMW chase video with Madonna a few years back?

Personally have no real opinion on Law, he's doing something right though to have shagged that many uber-hot girls! Shame it's not his acting ability laugh
