Economical car advise sought.

Hi everyone.

A friend needs a car quickly and budget is around £1,000.

Car ideally would be a 1.4 for insurance etc.

Can the Pistonheads readers advise on what he should look for and if possible list any links ?

Use would be countryside driving and approx 40 miles a day.

rover 25 1.4's are pritty good. I ran one for a year and a bit, doing mainly country roads and some D/C. Being 19 with 1 years NCB only cost me £800-900 for insurance.
