Help with VW Polo Advert

Even in the rarefied world of advertising I am struggling to see what in the name of all that’s holy a horse faced tattooed chav bird with cellulite and a bloke in tights has to do with a VW Polo?

Seriously: what are they trying to say?

Well both dancers have gang related tattoos. Real or not, I couldn't say. It's just the oxymoron that gangbangers (not THAT kind!) would be able to Dance (Argentine Tango so I'm told) In the same way that a small car can also be tough and pretty.

Personally, I like the first bit, but it doesn't sell Polo AT ALL IMO

In general, I hate VW commercials. Ford & Audi have the best I reckon!

It is an awful advert IMO - I want to punch the knobhead in it - it would not make me want to go to my VW dealer and buy one!

Things can be tough AND attractive. Just like a Polo. Pretty simple idea really and beautifully executed.

If all car ads simply showed the car doing what cars do, then the world of advertising would be a boring place.

I love the old VW Ads. The VW Golf Mk1/2 one? Where the man exits the monte carlo casino after loosing everything, but still finds security and comfort in his golf and is happy!

I can't remember the last car add that showed a car actually doing what a car does. The only vaguely recent on was the Zafira add with that nerdy beardy chap, and even then it wasn't anything exciting. I wish they could show a bit of tyre smoke and gratuitous use of the throttle!
