Only criteria is insurance. Impreza Wagons are out of the window, though a Legacy may be an option.

What have you?

Avoiding the obvious Subaru answer to this question, possible alternatives are:

Volvo 850/V70
Mondeo
A4/A6 quattro
Octavia
Passat
Mazda 6
Mitsubishi Galant/Legnum

Allroad? I've seen a few floating around for circa £3k and at least one below it.

Being a PH you should do your own research and not expect to be spoonfed like a What Car reader wink

And I love the first sentence about the only criteria.

Until the second sentence crops up a mere full stop later.

Can people stop wasting our time? I've always complained about WHAT CAR? threads on PH, people on PH should KNOW what they want, they are not a bunch of middle aged ladies who know they want a blue car but have no idea otherwise.

Fair point, though I feel 'wasting our time' a little strong. We're all here because we want to be right?

I know the options available to me and I've also done the research. I just like to hear experiences from likeminded individuals (i.e. you lot) regarding ownership experiences.

And anyway - everyone loves a what car thread!

That's very, very cheap for an S2- especially a 6-speed ABY one.

Never bothered to take a loom at these before, but I do like them! In some winter Tyres it'll only be other motorists that stop you in the snow.

I loved mine, not a car to hustle but a really nice place to sit.

On this one the LCD will be just over £100 to repair properly and the airbag light will want the connector under the driver seat fixing and a reset.

Legacy all the way for me, but I'm biased having owned one in Australia for a year. They're just bulletproof.

I remember reading somewhere where the Allroad tackled the Land Rover course without problems. Dunno if it's true but if so it's probably one of the only car-based off-roaders that can...
