My mrs is currently bombing about in a cheap and cheerful Nissan Micra it has served us well and has been bombproof reliable for 4 years now.

As the kids are getting bigger she says she needs a new car something larger newer and in the £1500 price bracket.

I suggested an Almera or Primer in the £5-600 price range would be more than adequate for her needs.

reasons being

mileage she does is 5k tops
she says if she did not need to drive she would not bother!
she will not drive anywhere outside her comfort zone.
she refuses to take to motorways or dual carriageways.

So the PH massive over to you ...thoughts?

A 600 quid Almera would be "adequate" for almost all drivers, that doesn't mean they'd want one. Even for non-car people, car buying isn't an entirely rational process.

I have had a few Primeras over the years and they have all served me well with out major problems. They are quite cheap to repair and maintain etc (even the GT models)

I rate them highly
