Righty.

My ongoing astra v6 is being a pig again.

I took it to a friends the other night on back off truck too have a new master cylinder fitted and the Astras Temp sender tapped in and wired up.

I have gone out too it today and it wont start, It has a spark as i took a lead out and grounded a old plug.

I think it has fuel as when you push the pressure nipple in its squirting fuel. It will turn over and pop through airfilter but not firing. Iv had jump leads on it a while but still no luck.

Anything that could go wrong on this conversion has.

Its a 2.5 Ecotec engine in a MK4 astra

Cheers lads

Also for those who were wondering the Bm turned out too be just a normal 525

Any codes logged ? From memory I think you can pin out A & B pins on diag plug and watch the dash light flashes (do check before trying though).

Last time I saw one of these not fire, funnily enough in an astra it had a row of bent valves!

Not sure if youll be able to do a paperclip test? V6s are well known for dropping crank sensors. This will give a spark and fuel pressure but wont let the injectors fire. HTHs

Was it not the one in the pics? Because that's definitely registered as a 3,430cc, making it a 535i of some sort even if the Hartge bits were added on (unless the engine was added later as well I suppose).

Do you have the last six digits of the VIN to check becasue it'd be a shame to see you throw either a rare car or a heap of cash away.
