I'd have thought someone would have said toyo t1 r or falken 452, I've tried neither but they seem to get a lot of positive mentions.

If you're replacing all 4 at the same time it's worth considering changing to 195/50/15. It's a more common size so you get more choice and they tend to be cheaper than the same tyre in 185/55/15.

In terms of choosing a tyre, I'd be looking at the Toyo and Falken options mentioned above, or maybe Uniroyal Rainsport 2 (which I haven't tried yet but will probably be my choice when I next need some).

I've also found Avon ZV3 and ZV5 to be pretty good.

I run Toyo T1-Rs on my road/hillclimb Clio 172 & rate them quite highly in all weathers, keep them inflated though as the sidewalls aren't very stiff & they're bloody awful on low pressures!

the alloys on my ignis are unusualy thin though so are you shure 195/50/15 will fit properly and plus because they are lower profile the speedo will need calibrating wont it

not my car but just to show you how thin the alloys are

Fit four of these:

Excellent tyres and great value. Stick to the OEM size unless you are absolutely sure a size change won't have downsides.

i think i will stick to the OEM size, these are very slightly more expensive than the T1Rs, whats better about them

There's barely any difference in diameter (9mm!) so it shouldn't make much difference on the speedo, but if there's any doubt over the wheel width then stick with the original size. You're right though, they do look pretty narrow.

Hankook instead of Toyos? Really? -_-

Not tried them, but the toyos are very good. Falken 452 also a good tyre
