CHAPS payment on Sunday?

Morning all -

considering buying a car though private sale today.

Slight prob is that its a fair way away & i dont really want to have to go back in a few days to collect when cheques clear etc.

Does anyone know whether a CHAPS payment can be ordered/completed on Sunday?

If you are with the same bank I think it will as if I transfer money between mine and the good lady's account it goes any time of day or night.

CHAPS won't work on a Sunday but the 'faster payment service' will. However there is a 10k limit with this.

Some banks limit the amount below what fastpay handles. Mine only allows £5K per day to a particular account that way.
