After a few years of owning american cars of varying degrees of reliability, I decided to get something European and a bit more 'sensible'.

So I went and looked at a red MG ZR (the 1.4 one).. seemed clean so I took it away with me.

Hour drive home... gearbox got noisy... stopped, and then found I can't get any gears other than first. Away it went on a tow truck.

Dealer said he would pay for any repairs luckily.

I'm hoping it's just an oil level issue but I suspect it's a new gearbox job. So frustrated. Looks like I'll be taking the bus for another fortnight lol!

I make every mistake (never bother with HPI check, buy from laybys in the middle of knowhere) hasnt bitten me in the butt yet.

Ive heard enough horror stories to stop trying my luck again though.
