Hi,

Is someone of you able to tell if this C4 Coupe is a ZR1?

Talking about Corvettes, is this the C5 FRC or coupe and how to distinguish them easily? The B-pillar seems to be different, but from some angles it is hard to tell them apart (for me anyway).
I had a hard time finding out the body side moulding is just an option! I had to look up the options list.

Thanks!

Black car is not a ZR1. Red car looks to have a removable roof panel, not sure if that is what you meant by FRC(fixed roof coupe?). The easy way to tell is by the rear hatch. Cars without the removable roof have a proper boot rather than a glass hatch.

ZR1 had 'squarer' rear lights.

Thanks Redtwin,

By FRC I meant Fixed Roof Coupé indeed. You had the normal coupe (I don't know if all standard coupes had removable roof panels or that it was optional) and the FRC, hardtop coupe. I thought the car in my pic was one of the FRC's...

Job,

The C5 in your pic is the Coupe, all of which had a one-piece lift out targa roof panel. The Fixed-Roof-Coupe was originally a slightly cheaper model with less equipment and as the name suggests, no lift out roof panel. This model only ran for two years before it became the basis for the Z06 model with increased performance. This was basically because the FRC was a stiffer and lighter starting point.

Thanks Tim, for your conclusive words. I will add it in my archives.

No problem.

Just noticed your C5 pic also has the pretty rare magnesium wheel option. Rare because it was about $3000, i think!

Another Corvette-related question.

This C6 is fitted with a "double bubble" hardtop, reminiscent of Zagato's famous rooflines! Are these hardtops solely sold by Smooth Line?

And just for your fun, a pic of the C6 Callaway Corvette.

Best!

You're exactly right about the price: three thousand dollar! They are rare indeed - RPO N73
1997: not available
1998: 1.425
1999: 2.029
2000: 2.652 (price dropped to 2.000 dollar!)
2001: 1.022 (just 3% of total year production)
2002: 114
2003: 293
2004: 1.110 (price dropped again, now to 1.500)

I think the pic was taken late in the last century.

The C4 is an 85 I believe. Wheels are the giveaway.
