I've bought two cars this year. When the V5 for the first one came back in February it looked like the document I am accustomed to. The second one, bought last month came back today, and although it's the same document, it is now more red in colour and there is a warning on the front that says the document only proves who is the keeper, not the owner of the vehicle. Other than that, both are V5s and look identical. Question: Does this change affect all newly issued V5s? or is the DVLA trying to tell me that my second car may be nicked? (bought it from a dealer)

They've just changed the design of the V5 I believe.

Yeah, of course DVLA will inform you your car is stolen property by issuing a red V5. rolleyes

They had tons of blank V5's nicked, so they've changed the design for any newly-issued ones.
