Hi guys,
Thought I'd sign up and say hello.
I'm currently driving a 2002 RenaultSport Clio with a few choice mods to make it a bit better. Considering the cars I've owned previously and the reason I've now ended up with a Clio I love it! Fantasticly fun little car which reminds me of my youth in my 106 GTI.
I'm 23, live in Dorking, Surrey. I'm a Recruitment Consultant within the Oil and Gas Industry.
Previously owned the following...
RenaultSport 172 Cup
VW Polo GTI 6n2 with a 20VT engine conversion
Audi TT
Seat Ibiza Cupra
106 GTI
S2 Escort RST (mint one)
BMW's and a few others.
Anyway, hi!

I've had 12 cars!
In chronological order the list is...
S1 106 XSI - Awesome first car, taught me a lot about driving but I kept on breaking it.
Astra 1.4 CD - Was free from a relative as my 106 kept breaking.
Seat Ibiza Cupra - Cool car, wanted one since I was 13, got one and it was a bit disappointing. Spent a lot of money trying to make it better (Remap, Suspension) but still disappointing.
106 GTI - Minty mint example, silly low miles. Was just what I was looking for, apart from the 172 it was the best car I've owned. Went really subtle with a set of Nimrods, then VTS wheels, smoothed, Cams.
Mk5 XR3i - Brought it as a cheap run around whilst I was having work done to the 106 GTI.
BMW 325 - Wanted a bit of comfort as the job I was doing meant long journey's 3 times a week and I didn't want to put miles on the 106. BMW was a good car but when things changed and I wasn't doing bug miles I got rid. Did look good with full original M3 kit and M3 Vader seats... just didn't have the performance to match!
S2 Escort RST - Really nice example, running 220bhp+, Red, Escort Cossie wheels. But ultimately, wanting to get into the RS Blue Oval club was just disappointing... weekend car not an everyday!
BMW 318ti - Was planning on a 328 Sport engine conversion but things changed in my Career and I had a lot more money.
2003 Audi TT - Avus Silver, Red Leather, AMD Remap and loads more... was a beautiful car, really really nice but the numbest car I've driven I think. So I had it a while but was always wanting something more raw.
2000 Polo GTI 6n2 - 1.8 20VT conversion, Black on G60 steels. Total sleeper running 280bhp+. But when I thought I wanted raw, I didn't, I just wanted fun!
2003 Clio 172 Cup - This was awesome but due to a British Gas van pulling out on me and causing an accident this was the first accident I had and was a write off.
2002 Clio 172 - After the Cup I actually wanted AC and Xenons so went with the normal 172 knowing I'd change all the components that are softer than the Cup. So, Cup wheels (Speedline Turini's), Coilovers, Stealth SS Exhaust, Momo Team 300mm wheel, Splitter and a few other bits. This is the BEST car I've owned. Perfect mix. It's fun, chuckable, quick enough (it's useable power on the road), brilliant handling, brilliant feedback, can be comfortable / quiet for the longer trips, economical and did I mention FUN!?
So that's where I am! The cars I've not liked have lasted as little as 3 weeks! But I've had my Clio since the beginning of the year and I only intend on making it better and better. Once (the reason I had to downgrade) is gone, I think I'll be looking at some sort of TTS, S3, R32 style car as my everyday car and keep my Clio for a weekend toy. As a weekend toy I'd love to do some Track Days (never done one) but as it's my only car atm, I don't want to risk it.
