By someone in a lesser car to your diesel, do you ^

I have noted actions such as these are common among PHers so what is the most popular.

I'd be ashamed that I was driving like a muppet and thank him for showing me the error of my ways.

Might be the naked Sabine option.

Can I have an option for "start worrying about big bills because clearly my car must be broken", please?

+1

It only happens if I get caught unawares dawdling along not realising I've reached an open stretch where it is appropriate to speed up a bit, being overtaken livens me up again.

If I get overtaken in such manner on country roads it would be because either

A) I let it happen as its a road I'm not aware of or I'm simply having a sunday drive and enjoying the scenary.

B) He's doing like 90MPH in an "Scooby" or "Evo" or some other back road "wizard"

Actually got told off by a girl last night cos after dropping her off I took 7 mins to get home on back roads which usually takes her mum 15mins... But none of those options I can pick as if I get overtaken on back roads I can accept it! as long as it doesnt put me in danger and he leaves me with a 2 second gap and I do not have to adjust my speed its fine!

I was going to post a witty retort, such as "so how are you finding your 335d?".

And then I checked your garage.

hehe

Mate I've got a diesel but it's no slouch it is a Pug 306 DT (the T means it's got a turbo) and is easily faster than you're average 1.6. I'm gonna turn up the pump once the wheather brightens up, I will have had it two years in May, I got it when I was 19 and it has not once let me down. Gonna get an Impreza WRX one day which will drink loads so it would be cool if I could keep the Pug for day to day use. In October I finally began modding after getting the more boring things sorted out, the spec list is quite short at the moment but hopefully this year I can turn it into a nice lil sleeper;) Gonna get some panels resprayed first tho wink

I was in the 5 series yesterday afternoon and was "making progress" when I got completely obliterated by a Disco (new one). He was pulling away from me (I was doing 100) and got that bus round the damp corners like I couldnt believe...I was not upset, but totally in awe-fooking hell that geezer could drive.

10/10 for effort. I was hugely impressed!

mate you must have the NA version or be confused or something. Trust me this thing will spin the wheels in first gear and in second if it is damp and that's only as standard. There must be something wrong with you're one, is the air filter or fuel filter blocked? Just looked at you're profile, you refer to it as a 'shed' which I can only assume means a stter in less vague terms, which indicates that you don't look after it so no wonder it is slow! I only like to get mine out a few times a week so that I don't wear it out and do all the work etc myself because it is cheaper and you get an increased bond with the car if you work on it yourself. Besides I like to cruise so I don't care if it is fast or slow but when I push the pedal I am always amazed at how much grunt it has. You do realise you can wait until 4500 RPM until you need to change gear, right?
