Well not at all.
There are plenty of threads saying that they are or are not needed depending on conditions etc.
So this isn't a thread for arguments, all I want to know is which "summer" tyres actually perform ok in snow.
So post details your tyres, size and car.
So it's not how well they work in the cold only snow, what I want is tyres that can get up hills out of car parks etc.

I know that Dunlop sp01s 195/65 15s are poor on a passat. I now have snowtraks fitted.

I also know that champiro gt 205/60 15s on a 156 v6 are IMHO better than average, and I won't need a 2nd set of tyres.
So remember no arguments just personal experience.

Im running Uniroyal Rainsport 2 205/50/17 on my mark1 Octavia vRS. They cope surprisingly well in the snow and quite impressed.

But the Alfa has quite a nose heavy weight distribution with the V6, which helps a lot.

Don't know about what summer tyres are good for keeping you moving through the snow, but Goodyear Eagle GSD3s are brilliant at polishing it to a mirror smooth finish wink

Nexxen somethingorothers on my Accord have been fine. I won't be changing them for winter tyres...or any other tyres until they wear out.

yes that's true, but I still think it would be poor on sp01s.
I shouldn't have started this I may be in danger of becoming a tyre geek! smile

Last year I had a loaner Corsa on Dunlop SP Sport 01 in 185-65-15, and it was good on snow. Really quite good in fact. It was a current model Corsa 1.2 Design.
