Posed the question in the car specific forum but anyone with any technical know-how seems to be asleep so as it's not really car specific I'll pop the question in here as I need confirmation sharpish.......
The alternator warning light has decided to change it's role to a change up light getting brighter and brighter the higher up the rev range you get till it's fully lit at warp speed
A quick phone call later, the multi-meters out and showing 12.1V at the alternator with the engine running and the lights on, now I'm lead to belive this should be nearer 13.5V
I've used the car twice since then and when not in use it's plugged in, but the Accumate is showing 'not fully charged' even after a 12 hour session
I'm guessing this is all linked, and although all is still working ok at the moment it wants sorting sharpish before something goes 'pop' and leaves me stranded somewhere?
Is my alternator on it's last legs or is something else a miss

As an aside, the voltage you are getting is about right. Normally the battery will only show 13+ volts when it is charging.
Shouldn't it have been charging, and those figures were taken off the back of the alternator incase that matters
not if it's knackered, watch your voltmeter as you rev the engine, it'll probably rise and fall with rpm (so don't overdo it)
