All our cars (rwd / fwd) were snowed in yesterday. Borrowed my mates' Mk1 TT 3.2. I was very impressed with it's on snow abilities. Not a Landy - but still blimin good! If only it had 5 seats!!!

There is an Audi TT 3.2 Quattro available with 5 seats. It's called a Golf R32 and they're brilliant in the snow. How do I know? wink

A R32 has 5 seats and will do everything that TT did for less money and will be easier on the eyes.

The bonus is never having to say you own a TT.

I quite like the TT in its mk1 guise. yeah granted total hairdresser posers car in its 180bhp giuse. But get one of the powerful ones, and they are good fun! My mate just got a TT 'S', 265bhp or something, looks ace!

I love these topics that bring out the TT hate in people who have never driven a TT but just dislike them because its the cool thing to do around here these days.

I don't dislike the TT, but could never bring myself to own one, even though they are cracking things to sit inside.

One regret about selling my R32 when I did was never having driven it in the snow.

I've never been a TT fan, but having owned a MK5 R32, I'd say it's better built. Doesn't handle as well, but all fairness, I think it's a good steady GT.

It never snowed when I owned my R32 frown However I am suprised it is rather good, as the tyres are so wide!

Yeh, the VW 4wd cars are no off roaders, but they certainly are better than fwd.

Years ago I had a Passat Syncro. Brilliant car (although slower than you'd think).

Mrs is taking the TT today, so I'm going to have get my fwd snotter out - EEEEEEK!

Annoyingly I also owned an Audi S3, 4WD Passat, Jeep Cherokee, Subaru Prodrive. Did it snow? No chance. Typical.

True, but then you'll have to say you own a Golf, so they'll think you're boring rather than ghey. You just can't win! banghead

I have found limits to the R32 in the snow, but overall it is pretty good. Could be DSG only letting me start in 1st though.

Best thing I found this morning is to wind down the window and boot it! cloud9

There is nothing going up and down our untreated lane at the moment apart from disco's/RR's and our 3.2 mk2 TT (inc winter tyres).

(a few weeks back). Quite a lot worse at the moment.
