She wasn't lucky, the passengers on the communter train that would have been injured as part of her sheer stupidity were lucky. She, however, deserved to have been hit by something.

The Renault on the tracks is the car she borrowed from the garage that was fixing her 1-series after she put it in D and pushed it into a house.

a: lol, satnav is a guide only.

b: what the heck are we doing crossing rails with roads anyway, that's the real issue of level crossings, what's next, rowing boats crossing shipping lanes!

Nowhere in this country should pedestrains mix with vehicles or vehicles mix with trains, stupid blooming country.

Why not? Level crossings are perfectly safe if used properly! rolleyes They are not difficult to use for anyone with half a brain - OK, that rules out 25% of the motorists on the road today, unfortunately eek

The picture in the article shows she was approaching the crossing from the North West (opposite side of track to the signalling building. Presumably she was heading left after the crossing and simply turned too soon.

TomTom by any chance?......
TT's try and send you down the Guided Busway here....it runs 13 miles to Cambridge....doh......and mine ALWAYS tries to send me down a dirt track to reach a main road from my house...and then there is the fella in the BMW who followed the TT and ended up stranded and got fined for it... Started using Google navigation on my 'droid phone...all that needs is speed cams then it will be perfick
