My front drivers side coil snapped yesterday whilst parked out side the local Marks and spencers. My son was sitting in the car at the time and thought there had been an earthquake as the car jumped forward so violently. smile
My mechanic advised he'd been fixing a lot of them recently presumably a mixture of very cold weather and speed bumps everywhere frown

Some cars are prone to spring failure anyway, but as you're very guarded in your post and profile about what you drive we'll never know wink

The missus has lost 3 stone recently and that's obviously upset the balance of the car frown

Yes, my Saab is on its second replacement after a chunk fell off, dont use the oem ones, look for a quality aftermarket one, mine is so much better on the Eibach ones, rides better, handles better and seems, bizarrely, quicker !

Not to bad do it yourself as well.

Too cold and too much crap in the garage to DIY, the mechanic needed to use heat on the topnut to get it off and then rebuild a bearing in the top of it. He wasn't happy.....smile
