So I have just been on the phone to my Insurance to add a "claim" from March this year, they failed to add it to the renewal despite me telling them about it and I only noticed it last night, anyway, despite not being in or near the car, the car being parked and not claiming what so ever on my own insurance, my premium has gone up £47.50 (almost 14%!) rolleyes

What I really want to know is. will this affect my NCB, or does that only get affected if I claim on my own insurance?

I forgot to ask at the time and don't want to phone them again because I'm in the huff with them.

This again?

NCB isn't real. It's given to you by your insurance company, entirely at their discretion. It's not a right or a legal entitlement.

Therefore only they can tell you what they will decide to do with your NCB.

Having said which, it seems unfair to penalise you for a claim if you didn't make one. But if the other chap claimed against you, then it is.

Look like I made PH boo boo hehe

I was just looking for a bit of advice through experience, I suppose I'll give them another call then.

FYI, there was no claim made against my insurance at all, in fact they didn't even know it had happened until I phoned them today.

15% is a typical typical lncrease for answering yes to the question:
Have you been involved in an accident during the last 5 years, regardless of fault?

Your now considered a higher risk, through no fault of your own.

ETA: this is seperate to any No claims bouns you may have, or may lose.

Sorry, I'm being arsey today.

If there's no claim, then it shouldn't affect your NCB. They've increased your premium because being the victim of someone else's accident makes you a huigher risk rolleyes
