Planning a Christmas trip to see family. Does anyone know what the state of the motorways towards Liverpool are like?

Thanks

This might be better.

Had a light dump of snow last night but none since.

Most major roads are clear, certainly around South Liverpool.

As you might expect side roads remain untreated.

I have managed to get out ok over the last couple of days, a couple of small slides, but noting major.

Thanks. I tried that first, but unfortunately there's just miles upon miles of "no information available".

So could be completely clear (but not marked clear), could be delays (but not marked delays) so non the wiser really.

So I thought I'd see if anyone had actually driven on those roads and whether it was a problem.

Thing is the forecast for the next few days is clear, so if the roads are clear then they're likely to stay that way.

On the other hand it's a heck of a long journey, so if they're not then I'll have to give it a miss.

That's a better one, thanks. Looks like there's no snow delays, just the usual hold ups.

That's brilliant, just the sort of info I need, many thanks.

I need to get into Great Crosby which is not far from the M57/M58 so that might be ok.

Problems on the M58 today according to the local news. You shouldn't need to use the M58 if you're heading to Crosby though?

I think we go M62 and M57 from memory, does that sound right?

Avoid Maghull and minor roads and you'll be fine.

Major roads are pretty much okay apart from a few lanes that still have a bit of snow on them.

Just be sensible and you'll be fine.

Motorways were fine.

Planes weren't going far though!

That's brilliant, thanks chaps.

As long as they're clear through the Midlands (M5/M6) we should be in business! driving
