We Wish You A Merry Christmas
(And a Happy New Year, naturally)
The team here at PH HQ would like to wish all our lovely PHers a heartfelt Merry Christmas. In fact, gosh-darn it, we're so brim-full of the festive spirit we'll even wish the same to any less than lovely PHers who may be lurking out there, too.
We're mostly enjoying the holidays at home with our families, a privilege afforded to many of us by the good works of the hardy folk operating the gritters, salt-spreaders and snow ploughs that have been keeping the roads clear during recent weeks. And while we're usually the first to take pot-shots at the Highways Agency and local councils (normal PH service will be resumed in 2011), with a few notable exceptions it's been a fine job they've made of keeping our roads open this year - the hardest UK winter since nineteen-hundred-and-lord-knows-when.
We just wanted them to know we're grateful (well, those of us who aren't stuck axle-deep on the M40...), and that we've always wanted to drive a snow plough.
Season's Greetings one and all!

Merry Christmas! I do so love that time before the family get up on Christmas day. All asleep after being awake for midnight mass, non of the normal Saterday morning stuff to do...
In true Xmas spirit I witnessed a gritter driver stop when he saw a woman stuck going the opposite way, get out of his truck and start shovelling grit in front of her car to help her make it up the hill - well done that man!
Just kidding, thanks for everything, I don't know what I would without this website. Except maybe buy a new house with the money I have saved.....
Merry Christmas and New Year PH, I hope you are around for many more happy years.
PS. Big thanks and Merry Christmas to the Highways Agency and Old Bill.
