Fuel Efficient Vehicle Parking Only

Found this on the Bimmerforums, apparently some of these have been erected at a Best Buy store in Plymouth, Massachusets. This sign and three others like it take up the closest, dead center from the entrance spots in front of the store. The handicap spots are actually further away.

Yup. You would definitely use more fuel by driving by.

In fact, by this logic, the Prius etc. should all park at the back, to save mileage from the gas guzzlers....

My inner tt would love to hire a Viper and park there, blipping the throttle while waiting on my mate who has left his Hummer running in the spot next to me.

What utter st. I'll respect disabled spaces and even parent and child spaces but a car uses no fuel when it's parked...

Hmmm, fuel efficient?

My 6 MPS daily driver produces about 270bhp and does about 27mpg, so that's 10bhp per mpg. A Citroen C1 produces 67bhp and does 60mpg, so that's about 1.1bhp per mpg.

Clearly my car is significantly more efficient because it produces nearly four times the power from just over twice the fuel.

Ironically, yes (or at least the one in Lakeside has EV charging points in the car park!)

No and the C1 doesn't do 60mpg when producing 67bhp, that's why I used the average mpg figures. . . . .

No and the C1 doesn't do 60mpg when producing 67bhp, that's why I used the average mpg figures. . . . .

If you actually calculate it like that you'll probably find the smaller engine is more economical due to less internal friction/moving parts.

it'd be nice to know though.
