how to get into the boot of a BMW 318 as the lock is broke?
Discussion
Can anyone tell me how to get into the boot of a 1997 bmw 318 as the lock has broke and I need to get something important out of the boot. I have just been released from the nick, done a bit of bird up north with all these northern monkeys, a bit of intent to supply, gbh, usual bull...anyway I left my car at an ex girl friends house, it has been sat in her drive for 6 years and basically I have tried to break in to the boot but I think I am just making it worse. Anyone here got any ideas?
I have asked the same question in another forum called BMW Land http://www.bmwland.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&... and some one mentioned this place, maybe you can help???...

Similar thing happened on a friends 97 318. We looked into the boot via the ski hatch. Managed to reach through and pull the boot trim down. Then we could see the lock mechanism and see that a small hook had come away from the mechanism.
Simply popped it back in place and hey presto everything working as it should.

The ski hatch is in the centre of the rear seats usually with an arm rest.
I haven't got the keys to get into the car, they have been misplaced, I have tried breaking into the boot and the lock is broke. Is there any other way?Edited by joeel on Sunday 26th December 19:09
