Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a decent bodywork shop somewhere near Wickford in Essex to paint and fit a body kit (front + rear - not sides) + respray my front bumper.

I've set aside about £500 for it all, but I want to make sure that my baby goes to a reputable shop who don't moan about fitting aftermarket parts (even though they are top-end Japanese tuning parts).

Any suggestions?

A guy I used to know ran (or his family did at least) Upminster Panel Craft off the A127 in Basildon.

I had them do some colour coding on one of my old cars, work seemed fine and it was a good price.

Alf was the owner - 01268 525799.

Bump for anyone else who can offer recommendations.

I've got two places shortlisted (based purely on the fact that they have nice premises and arent 'cheap'):

Supreme Motor Bodies
JMA Refinishing

But I'm all ears for any other good places.

Supreme are very good. They did some accident damage on my car a few years ago and it looks as good as new.
I'll ask my brother who he uses as he does up a few cars. We're both in Wickford by the way. :-)

I'm no expert, but I would've thought for £500 to fit and paint a bodykit - you would be looking at the cheaper end of bodyshops?

Suppose it depends. If its a cheap fiberglass bodykit that needs trimming and filling to fit right and its being sprayed in a candy flip colour then yeah. But my bits are direct fit and its being painted in non-metallic black.

End of the day, a complete front bumper respray can be had comfortably for £250 at most shops? So £500 was generous I thought?
