Hi all,

My Audi has had some minor damage repair performed in the past before my ownership (small fill, and spray on NSR arch). I am trying to find out where it was done (it wasn't done particularly well).

If an insurance claim was filed should that information be accessible somewhere?

ETA... I have already contacted Audi who dont have any record of it being repaired inside the main dealer network.

many thanks in advance. dave.

Is this for warranty work? Was the car not 'sold as seen', bar mechanical failures though?

My thinking was I guess that the repairer is independent of where I bought it. If they are covering their workmanship for 1yr->infinity then I could get remedial work for free.

When my wife needed repairs on her mondeo after reshaping the rear end the workmanship/repairs were guaranteed for life of the vehicle IIRC.

cheers.

however the Ts&Cs might state lifetime of the car for the current owner - I doubt a guarantee would be left that open ended

have you tried to speak to the previous owner?

The obvious answer I'm afraid and I don't mean to sound sarcastic but, have you tried contacting the previous owners as listed on the V5? (will be even easier if it's a former lease car as the lease compnay ie GE, Lex etc etc, should have all the details on computer for when the repair authorisations were sent in by the garage)

previous owners were Volkswagen Financial Services, and I have contacted the Leaser of the car (no reply).

Suspect the leaser decided it was better solved by a cash repair, rather than (probably contractually described) using an Audi dealer.
