Was just wondering how everyone was finding the conditions of the roads after so much snow and ice? February's snow littered the roads with many many pot holes, I havent found it that bad in Somerset at the moment. I thought after the ice they would be terrible!

No pot holes around here. Theres some meteor craters which could swallow my car though!

And of course the associated surrounding area covered in little stones which I'm sure are doing wonders for my paint work!

Dont worry, the council will soon be around to fill the holes with a bit of tarmac, which will last a week or two, before the pothole appears again.

Potholes, you have minor blimps in the road compared to us.

This is a pothole.

Mind you we excel in swerving and fixing rims.

Don't have potholes as such in Inverness. Quite the opposite in fact. Where there has been major roadworks, replacing gas mains for example, the strips of surface that have been replaced are now lifting. I am sure these will damage sidewalls and rims if not dealt with.

Most of the roads in berkshire are terrible.... Spend more time concentrating on avoiding them than I do on my general driving... The roads in this country are a total joke given the amount of road tax we all pay!!!

I think that every car owner should just stop paying up for that little paper disc... What could they do about it if everyone just didnt pay..

It's like that by me, I can see the roads being a right mess by spring.

I was in Arusha in East Africa recently.

Having been there I will never think of what we have as potholes.
Minor dents in the road yes potholes, not even close!

(not my pic)
Thats sort of what you'd expect in east africa though.

Britain's roads are like a 3rd world country when compared to germany, france etc.

Try driving through france, you get off the ferry at dover and it feels like you're driving noddys fking clown car and you bounce up the A20.

I'm seriously considering a suspension upgrade/lift for the vito, if anyone has any recommendations

In Cambridgeshire there are still pot holes from last winter, badly patched and lifted all year, also some stone dressed roads which were done on the cheap since the latest government got in to mask the underneath, now worse than ever.....PLUS we have had little snow (not even 1/2") and not much salt down......

There are some proper dangerous craters appearing around Oxford/Thame/Aylesbury.
Some roads are like driving on a gravel track.

the A1 is like driving an off road course at the minute around where it joins the M62, although they're only a couple of inches deep, when you hit the potholes at 70mph it doesn't half make you feel for the suspension and tyres frown

I bet I do an extra mile on each journey just avoiding potholes. The roads around here are absolutely terrible. No wonder my car feels like it's all over the place

An absolute nightmare in Doncaster! I've really noticed how bad they've become and can imagine it'll take an age to rectify - if ever.

An email to The mayor beckons.

The roads in Doncaster have been full of potholes since the 70's that I remember and probably before then.

The roads here are getting gradually worse and worse. All the patching that the council prefers has begun lifting up.

Malta? Yep
Things are slowly getting better, but still way from perfect, i guess the heat doesn't help either.

I love it there, I thought it was because of A: the state of the road and B: the yellow limestone walls.

I almost came over and bought an old Alfa and drove it back to England but the damn thing sold before I had a chance.
