I was shopping early this morning and loaded my shopping into the boot of my Focus. I then closed the boot with the keys inside, and having previously forgot to unlock the doors first, much swearing ensued.

At first i called a taxi to take me home for spare keys, and was told the first taxi would be 0715 (the time was about 0630 at this point). I agreed and went to buy some cigarettes and paper to read whilst waiting for the taxi.

Then i remembered i have RAC cover with my bank account, so called them, explained the situation and to my suprise they were on the scene within 60 minutes, which i think is excellent considering the non urgency of my situation and time of year.

Within 10 minutes the patrol man had got my boot opened and i was on my way. They way in which he opened the boot was relatively straight forward, and given the right tools i'm sure i could do it myself in future.

So in summary this morning i was a tit, but am pleased with the service from the RAC, and would like to remind you all not to lock your keys in the boot!

Tip of the day: Don't open the boot without unlocking the door.

Tip of the day 2: Don't assume anyone cares about you locking the keys in the boot.

HTH, and Happy New Year.

Just cut a tennis ball in half put one half over the door lock and wack it. The pressure will pop the locks.

Fact.

Bloke down the pub told me, while telling me about his wifes friend who after eating at a takeaway had a dentist remove a pet micro chip from her tooth. Fact.

Fact.
