Testing is over which means its time for me put my bets down; HAM on the nose at a rather puny 5/2 and RAI E/W at 12/1.

Anybody else have an annual flutter and if so who have you gone for? If not, who would you be most tempted by?

I'm thinking of chucking a tenner on Massa - I think Corals have him at 40-1!

He's got the credentials to hold his nerve - he was only half a lap away from winning it when Hamilton got it.

I put bets on at the end of the 1st test. I figured Renault were in real trouble and Merc had a stable engine to start with. So picked the Merc engine runners I thought likely to take it. And put a whole £5 on each to win.

Jenson Button 18/1
Nico Rosberg 10/1

Come on Jenson!!

Mercs look strong and the odds reflect that.

The bookies are all over this and there's no stand out amongst the 'real' contenders, Merc powered cars have reliably covered the most kms in testing (4000+) but they're all paying under $25 for a win in Aus, the Force India's might be worth a punt, my heart and 65% of my head says Massa @ 16 - 1

I'm going Redbull for the constructors title paying 9 - 2, great odds.

Drivers title? God knows - Seb? Lewis? No idea.......

Hmm, that's potentially a good shout

  • edit: Bet365 have him at 16/1
Rosberg was 6/1 for WDC

Also just used my Sky Matched bet for 33/1 on Massa for WDC, seems unlikely to come home but hey it seemed worth a bash smile

My heart is telling me to take out a relatively large bet on Massa as the odds across the platforms seem good and he has been quick; I just can't bring myself to do it. Works Mercedes look quick and reliable and I think that one of the Ferraris will be there or there abouts, thats if the McLarens don't take the final spoils.

Would be delighted to see FM do well this season.

Then have a smaller each-way bet on him.... he who hesitates Rodders ... and all that.

With so many variables and unknown quantities this season, that could be a good bet. Hope you did it each-way.

By the way, there's such a thing as first time luck.

I'm also a Button fan but, would love to see Massa succeed this season now he's no longer under the thumb of his 'deserving' former team mate.

For WDC I have a tenner on Massa at 100-1 and a tenner on button at 28-1. Still unlikely, but slightly more likely than before testing smile
