On the M20 this morning..i.it appears he broke down, got out of his van and was hit by a lorry. Sad indeed. He was a very funny guy with an immensely dry sense of humour and we won't ever get to read 'that' book.

Very sad to hear this.

For those who won't know who he was, he was a very well known Formula 1 team mechanic.

Was the book in production?

RIP Nigel, my condolences to his family & those that knew him.
I hadn't spoken to him for several years but did mail him a year ago - he still hadn't found the time to write it then. I'll see Mo Hamilton tomorrow and I think he may have more info on it

Very sad news, I met him properly for the first time only a few weeks ago over at JRM. My condolences to all his colleagues there, and of course to his family.

Hope it wasn't suicide, but I fear it was.

Regardless, RIP Nigel.

It's suggesting he entered lane one, not that the lorry entered the hard shoulder. We will have to agree to disagree.

You are inferring the suicide angle. The article is merely reporting the facts.

Could we please wait for the authorities to finish investigating what has happened rather than speculating and causing more distress to those affected by yesterday’s events.

My thoughts are very much with Ash and Sabine at this time.

Andrew Benson seems to be more interested in building his article around spy-gate than the tragic loss of life.

No it's not? it "says" he enterd lane one which is what happens if you get out the drivers door whilst on the hard shoulder, it doesn't suggest anything.
