Good news, maybe Grosjean won't look around at other teams now. Dump Maldonado and they'll be set hehe

Well with awesome grip and superior power, that sounds very promising...

I am guessing if the Red Bulls got a Merc engine they'd be unstoppable.

I saw this thread on "What's New" and clicked without realising it was F1 related.

Just imagine a Lotus/Mercedes partnership, next Evora with the AMG 6.2v8? Yes please!

Glad Honda is coming in net year, we need variation otherwise with the Renault unit being so poor we'll end up with every sod using merc engines.

No I think Mercedes said they will only supply 4 teams including themselves. With McLaren going to Honda, it opened up a spot. No one else will get a Mercedes engine next year unless Mercedes change their mind.

In the interests of taking this even further off thread! I was thinking only yesterday how a new tvr model would be a great home for a AMG engine.

weird, I still think of them as the "renault" team and have only really just managed to refer to them as lotus, do renault retain any ownership of them?

Nothing to do with them anymore.

Think Honda could do with a "B" team next year at this rate!

Super Aguri rebirth with Ant and Kobayashi please. Not going to happen though as they've got their hands full with Formula E at the moment.

Don't get this, yes the Renault is not so good right now, but least I heard Lotus couldn't pay the bills, so why switch and undoubtedly incur a bigger bill ? Given the performance of the car recently the engine isn't their main problem.

Cynical maybe, but I wonder if this is being done as a selling point of the team so Lopez can get shot of it ?

Lotus handling with the heart of a Merc? Sounds like a winner.

Lotus handling this year hasn't been too clever has it.
They've also lost a lot of tech staff.

They have admitted there is a fundamental problem with this years car. Rear underfloor IIRC. They have been hit hardest by the loss of any blown diffuser.
