I'd echo the question, I'm going Thursday to Monday, seats in the stand (F, I think) at the first corner after the start finish straight - Ms Mantis really pulled it out of the bag for the last Christmas present! It'll be my first F1 race, so I'm rather excited!

Do not attempt to drive to the circuit on race day. Go via train and watch practice, quai, as you get a good idea of the layout and what to bring.

Avoid the tourist traps in the city. Any bar or restaurant that uses touts is s***, read trip advisor, lots of great food cheap if you take care.

Pickpockets and robbers, will target you, especially if drunk, the Police don't give a F and will ignore your plight so the crime figures don't look so bad. Be streetwise, gangs of skilled, almost all non Spanish, organised pickpockets operate in crowds, Metro, football and F1.

Most of the prostiutes on las ramblas would rather steal your wallet than do any real prostitution. The ones 3/4 of the way down are not women, but will steal your wallet, phone just like the others.

Get a T10 Metro ticket, 10 fares for about e10, for your family of 4, Just pass it through the machine 4x.

Do not get in a Taxi without making sure they know where they are going. Show them that you have a Map app open on your phone, so no circuitous routes are taken. Tell them to F off then they then take you on a circuitous route.

The city is tiny and fun, lots of tiny bars with no one great place to recommend. Use Time Out for a guide

Would agree with all of that, especially like your advice about the "ladies" 3/4 of the way down the Rambla . . . . did you do the "Crocodile Dundee" test ? "Sorry Love just checking" :big laugh:

On a more "motoring" theme, the last time I was in town I happened upon a really excellent shop selling scale models I had never seen before (it has been there more than 20 years, it was me never being on this street before.)

No, sorry, I didn't, but thanks for offering to !

Not sure about the scale models, but Barcelona is full of interesting backstreet shops, many delightfully unchanged for ages, faded 60s signage and older, with a myriad of different products and history, it is something that has sadly been lost almost everywhere else in this glorious global Starbucking of our world.
