Wasn't sure whether to ask here or the TV section, so I'll stick it here. Pretty sure it's been covered somewhere before, but I'm not having much success finding it.

So, my Dad doesn't have sky, just regular freeview & freesat. Obviously he can get the BBC live covered races in full, but the other races only get edited highlights on the BBC I think? So I am looking at getting him a Now TV box and some day passes for sky sports. However, he doesn't generally watch the races live, preferring to record them and watch back the full race later on. I'm guessing this isn't possible on a Now TV box? Not sure if it's possible to feed the output of the Now TV box into his freeview plus recorder and record it that way? Or is there another way to do it, short of a sky plus subscription?

Isn’t the obvious solution to avoid the results (Likely Lads style) and then just watch the BBC highlights when they’re on? He won’t see the whole race but he’s not going to miss any of the interesting stuff. If he can’t watch the highlights when they are on “live” then watch them on iPlayer ... but the longer you leave it the harder it is to avoid the results.

He's not massively bothered about not knowing the result in advance, he just likes to watch the race unfold in full. The highlights always seem a bit disjointed as they naturally jump from one significant event to the next (admittedly you're only missing out on the uneventful bits in the middle, but it's still not quite the same).
