Drivers are Crashtard and Jolyon Palmer. Can't see that being the strongest pairing for a manufacturer team.

Part of me just wonders if Alonso will jump ship again!

Surprised its Renault. State owned by a socialist Government, cant imagine many other countries doing this. Still, we'll get a French Grand prix in 2017

I suspect 2016 will be a 'rebuilding' year for the team, with a change of drivers for 2017 - with Renault money available I doubt Maldonado will be retained unless he performs spectacularly next year.

I suppose it could be at Paul Ricard.

But Bernie would never be able to agree a suitable race fee with the owner!

Good stuff. just a pity it took so long and made a bit of a farce of the sport there.

I'm pretty hopeful of Palmer and hope he does well.

Maldonatard not so much. He hope he is out sooner rather than later.

Looking forward to seeing how they do

I think Palmer will do well and beat his team mate quite easily. In GP2 in 2014 he reminded me a bit of Mansell with gutsy performances and great overtakes.

Maldonaldo needs to do a good job in 2016 as Renault will not need his money but talent and that will leave him with Manor or Sauber with his bag of gold or bye bye F1.

I guess Renault must be fairly confident they can produce something halfway decent if they are in control of both the power plant and the car, I have to admit before the rumours started I would have put money on them quitting entirely and not becoming even more involved.

Ahead of McLaren-Honda next year? I reckon they might be even though McLaren's drivers are so much better.

Er...nope....he'd buy Silverstone if he had such ambitions. But just call him up and ask him. Don't take my word for it smile

Well they won't need PM's money and I guess as they are effectively a new team, the driver contracts aren't enforceable.

I bet Grosjean is kicking himself right now.

I wonder if we'll see him back there as soon as his Haas contract runs out?
