Sad news. Very smart, dry sense of humour and was a huge help to a friend's worthy work with a children's hospice. And also proof that Ron Dennis is very loyal to his friends.

Very sad - one of the great motorsport writers.

Nigel Roebuck hasn't been that well lately either.

I was told Nigel has a heart problem?

My favourite. I think I first read him in Motor. I always felt he never took things too seriously.

I wasn't aware what the issue was. He's been a life long smoker - so that won't have helped.

Ron looks a bit gaunt in this photo? Rip to Henry definitely a much liked character.

Doesn't look like Ron? If it is him he is gaunt.

It isn't Ron Dennis. I think it may be Jackie Oliver

I met Alan Henry twice, quite by accident.
First time was in 1995 and he was visiting his friend who was ill and involved in F1, who I was also visiting. We had a great chat and I was slightly in awe of him as he was a 'proper' F1 journalist and an 'insider'.

Then bumped into him at Silverstone around 2001/2002 during F1 testing and he was watching the commotion as Michael Schumacher was flocked by fans in the paddock, which meant I could have another quick chat with him as we both stood together.

Nice guy, a proper gentleman and a big shame.

Nigel Roebuck is on the latest Motor Sport magazine podcast. Worth a listen.

I liked his writing. You could disagree with him (on rare occasions) and still thoroughly enjoy his thoughts. I always assumed he'd be approachable as he could be self deprecating on paper, and am glad to read here that he was.

Sad to here of him passing.
