Nice. Remember as a yoof taking a long lunch and getting to Cadwell to see the 500 GP guys testing ahead of the weekend Brit GP.

Haven't you noticed Marc Marquez then? He's given Honda some results they probably didn't deserve in the last few years! laugh

Point taken BUT Marquez rides the diesels with all manner of engine management systems, Doohan achieved his successes on the hairy-arsed, light-switch powerband two stroke, a proper racer's bike.

I think the best riders could adapt to anything and much as I'm no fan of Marquez he's proved he's pretty quick. Whether he'd have the balls to ride with a broken leg or two thankfully hasn't been proven. Doohan was a nut case in an era of mental bikes.

I often imagine had Ron Dennis stayed Owner at Mclaren, if he ever would have been tempted to build a limited edition 'Senna tribute' car.

Derivative of 540 chassis, proper manual gearbox, Honda engine (and Honda logo on wheel), minimal electronics, awesome but tricky handling and all profits donated to Brazilian orphanages/Senna Trust (and free set of tassled loafers).

Would have been an awesome gesture.
