Fillipe Massa says he will be retiring at the end of the season.
Good on him for making the choice now rather than wait for the Williams team to make it.
Im impressed that such a nice bloke could go so far in F1 and was really nailed on for that title before Hamilton nipped in.
Let down by the usual Ferrari cock ups under pressure.
You do get the impression with Brazilians that they view it like a job on the post office and are eager to clock up a 40 year career. See also Barachello that just didn't want to leave lol.

Despite being a lifelong McLaren fan and Ferrari hater I wish Massa had won that title - he was robbed.

I wish him a long and happy retirement.

Felipe.

It's not really a surprise 12 months since he retired and then un- retired.

I agree, Timo Glock rolled over too easily that day. Gifted the position to Hamilton.

Wasn’t he on slick tyres on a damp track? Hardly rolling over.

Anyway, does this mean Kubica is getting another shot?

It'll be embarrassing if he crashes again in Brazil.

Great chap and a great racer too.

I remember when he had the spring/helmet interface in Hungary and I really thought that would be him done, I was very happy he carried on racing.

Be sad to see him go!

Rubbish.

Here’s the onboard from that last lap. It’s impressive he made it round at all.

Despite all the FIA assistance he had, you still think he was robbed?

Genuine nice guy. Shame he didn’t win the title that year. If they had got the fuel hose off properly in an earlier race it would have been his.

Indeed, I don't think there was a great deal Glock could have done about it. You can't really defend a position when you're running the best part 20 seconds a lap slower than the person behind you.

Glock was done; he was on the wrong tyres. There was no gifting going on.

First time I've seen that. Thanks for posting the link.

He's going slower than I remembered, but on the video he's trying. The car was sliding everywhere.

As he said, and many said at the time, Hamilton would have had him before the line even if he'd hung back on the corner.

I know that was his day job, but stunning car control from Timo there.
