A bunch of us are looking at a road trip to the GP at Monza this year, does anyone have ideas of where would be good to stay for the Saturday and Sunday nights?

Budget not a real concern but don't want to spend £000's, looks like there will be about 10 of us in 5 cars.

Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

LOL at the auto-correct title. That's all I'm here for.

Dad and I went in 2012; stayed at a tiny hotel next to the main station in Milan that (unknown to me when I booked it) was situated between a stripclub and a casino; plenty of entertaining sights to see after the long days at the track. Amazing food; although it was my first time in Milan and I was surprised just how relaxed a relationship the italians have with rubbish on the street.

I’m insterested too. Just booked flights for the family.

Anyone any recommendations for tickets? Where to be or not be? Do they have a general admission like silverstone? Don’t want to spend a fortune on tickets for the 4 of us.

Thanks all.

A seat in the starting grid bleachers at Monza is the best VFM ticket in F1 if you ask me.

We stayed here:

Hotel NH Milano Fiera

Relatively inexpensive, clean & a straightish run into Monza. Not too bad a taxi ride into Milano either

2013 we did 23b opposite pit entry at the end of parabolica. Plenty of sights, the card going like the clappers and a big screen opposite us. Can't remember the exact price, a little over 120 for the weekend or so...great value.

Stayed in Milan and took the train in to Monza in the morning...took about 30 minutes and then another 30 minutes walk to the centre of the circuit through the beautiful national park. I have read on a few forums that people seem to think that Milan isn't that lively. I rather think that nonsense.

Possibly the wrong end of your luxury requirements, but campingf1 do some good "pod"-type accommodation for reasonable rates, or pre-erected tents. Great site up the road, quite quiet and secure for leaving cars in.

5 minutes drive from the edge of the circuit, we used to park up at the top end of the park (on the public road, for nowt) then walk in.

I was in 8a and 8b; great view for first-corner action. Only downside was we were in direct sunlight with no shade and it was 33c every day. 6a/b/c get the same view but looked like they got shade from trees, the lucky fkers.

Has anyone just had the general admission tickets? How bad is it? It’s just going to get pricey for 4 of us.

No better/worse than GA at the other traditional circuits; plenty of viewing places around the track especially the run down to Parabolica (boom-boom-tsh).

GA isn't bad at Monza - there's quite a bit of GA seating and you can get very close to the track. But, the fact that it's flat as a pancake really counts against it versus GA at, say, Spa. I'd swallow the extra £50 for a starting grid bleacher. Gradinate 2A is opposite the pit exit and a big screen.
