Daddy Stroll buys Force India....?

reports that Lawrence Stroll has put in an offer for Force India... either a majority stakehold, or outright purchase:

If true, just how much would it hurt Williams if the Strolls walked away now?

(Although this weekend did show a bit of promise that they were maybe out of the woods as far as problem solving was concerned)

I was just thinking this earlier, being in a position where you can’t buy you’re son a drive in a competitive team so you just buy a whole other team instead! Incredible!!

I should imagine there are plenty of blinkered loaded parents out there who've paid their child up into GP2, and are looking for an F1 seat. I expect Williams can find someone to fill the seat with money.

I wonder if this is where the rumour about Williams being for sale came from. E.g. Daddy Stroll tried to buy Williams, but got told to "do one". So he's decided to buy Force India.

Wow, just how much money is he prepared to throw at his son's career. From what I have seen of Lance so far, he is probably slightly above journeyman status, I would like him to prove me wrong.

The thing is any team he goes to from here on out will demand the same or more investment. A fortune of billions is quickly squandered in the world of F1.

Very well written and much more likely sounding. The lack of any sort of proper story from a reputable source made the idea of him buying the whole team very unlikely!

Lando Noris has a Father who could spend a few hundred million and not worry about losing it and there are a number of junior drivers with very wealthy parents, but these people are not foolish and most understand better than us mortals the value of a GBP or US Dollar and have great advice too.

I can imagine it is actually cheaper to buy an assert you can sell on than to throw money at annual sponsorship. If you have the up front cash buying an under performing asset you can add value to is probably a much better option.
