Need help finding an old thread.

Starting to think I've made the whole thing up as neither Google and search here are any help but I'm looking for an example of the old meets that used to be arranged to watch F1.

In my head it was organised by PH where everyone would meet at a location and it would be shown on a big screen, but for the life of me I can't find reference to it anywhere.

Am I making this up?

That sounds familiar. Almost positive it happened for the Oz GP.

Didn't Williams arrange some of these at their factory? Possibly McLaren also?

Yes. There was a gathering at Mercedes Benz world at some ungodly hour in the morning to watch the first race of the season in Oz.

How do I know? I went!

It was awesome - they had one or two MB guys there. Breakfast was laid on. They also gave those who wanted it a tour.

That's the ticket! Trying to arrange a similar event in a non-car related environment and was trying to find details on that event as an example.
