2019 Barcelona Testing

I have heard that it is currently on or around the weekend of the 16th February. Is it an "open" event where the public can attend (tickets?) or behind closed-doors. Thanks

Open to public.

It’s either free or a very minimal entrance cost.

Won’t be that busy. I think paddock is still closed off to general access.

It is open to all €20 a day last year, tickets available on the gats each day.
This gains access to the outside os the circuit and some of the grandstands that are open.
If you want more, then google testing packages, as you can get into the paddock pit boxes and view the paddock from there.
Red Bull do a paddock day that is pretty good and you get access to the pits, lunch, and all sorts, not cheap though, but worth the experience.

Go to the second test the following week its cheaper then

Sky F1 just announced they will be showing all 4 days of the Barcelona pre-season test live.

Where do you recommend for accomodation within easy access and what about public transport? I fancy the idea of being without a hire car for a few beers at the track

Starts on the 18th, as far as I'm aware. Testing rarely takes place over a weekend.

Places are around go to booking dot com and see what suits you, not sure on public transport as i always get a car.

Last year we stayed in the Barcelona.
Got the Metro to Montmelo, then at about 9 o'clock, taxis start to turn up at the station.

Getting a taxi back to the station after the session was difficult , so we had a hours walk.

That could be very handy as my flight back to the UK is on Monday 18th but not until 9:35pm

I'm getting the train to the CdC from Barcelona city centre, either the light or dark green line(s).
