Honda really seem to be doing the biz now.
It was madness to think they could come in a do well from scratch and while at first it looked like Mclaren were taking advantage to get the £££ flowing as soon as possible it could now be suggested Honda needed a test mule for a few to 5 years.
Last time I remember them returning to F1 they were running in the back of a spirit f1 car or as mugen engines till they got up to speed.
In this case they seem to have used Mclaren for that purpose and then bagged themselves a top line
team.

Plenty of paddock chatter that McLaren enforced certain design constraints, whereas RB have not.
I remember reading an article about it when Honda went to Toro Rosso. McLaren and Honda both knew that the engine would be down on power, but that would be addressed aerodynamically by McLaren. That didn't happen, and from shouting from the roof tops that the McLaren was the best chassis it's all but proven to be a lie. I wouldn't say though that Honda have made any great strides in horsepower, but Red Bull have provided a great chassis that helps bridge some sort of gap left by the horsepower.
